– Because of an exhibition in London about the Tropicália movement in the sixties, a series of undefinable coincidences afforded by serendipity reunited Sérgio, Arnaldo, Liminha and Dinho to play together under the initial proposition of a one only presentation at the Barbican Theater in London as part of the aforementioned Tropicália event. When talks evolved to actually reforming Mutantes as a real band for touring and recording purposes, Liminha prefered out. Everything else grew from there.
– Rita Lee did not wish to take part in reviving os Mutantes. As she put it, her time machine is always pointed towards the future, never the past.

– Fernando Gama played for Veludo (74) before helping form Vimana (75). Betina is his wife.
– Arnaldo was the opening set and made a guest appearance with Mutantes at the Anhembi.
– It has been suggested that Serginho no longer felt that special inner relationship with his fellow bandmates, that he believes is so important for the music of Mutantes to be truthful. By 1978, progressive rock is being viewed as old music, the scene now taken by Disco, and New Wave.
– After recording in 1980, his self-titled first solo album, Sergio Dias moves to New York where he lives for the following years.
– Dec 31, 1981, coincidentally Rita Lee’s birthday, Arnaldo attempts to escape from the psychiatric ward of the hospital where he has been committed to by his mother. He does this by jumping from a 4th story window that he managed to break open. He would spend the next two months in coma.
– Rita Lee forms in 1978 a new band with her future husband Roberto de Carvalho and begins a solo career that becomes so sucessful, she quickly reaches superstardom status in Brazil. She would later venture into radio and television, both with great popular success, before once again returning to touring after the new millenium. In 2013, she announces that she is offically retired.
